The Sahara

We stopped in the last town before you hit JUST SAND, and bought wraps for our heads and faces--just in case it was windy.

This is what we saw for 2 hours. I have NOOOOO idea how our driver knew where he was going or where our camp was becasue there was NOTHING until we hit our camp. Crazy.

Grandma Uschi sand boarding like a pro!

Our sunset camel ride.

Hikes up huge dunes to see the sunset.

After dinner that evening our hosts played music and we danced around the fire for a couple of hours. It was awesome!

Seriously, there was NOTHING around us.

Our camp for the night.

There goes Case!

Our driver

Morning at camp.

WE made it back to Marrakesh for one more night and then headed home on a 6am flight back to Chicago. IT WAS A TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!!

Atlas Mountains

Goodbye, exciting and vibrant Marrakesh! On to the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert!

Goodbye to Grandma Cathy and Grandpa Gary who had to fly home. It was really fun to have them with us for the first week of the trip!

Now, on to the Atlas Mountains. We found out about an hour into the drive that Cason gets car sick. The roads were VERY twisty turny! He threw up pretty bad in the back, so we moved him up to the middle row.

These boys love to play in the dirt. It doesn't matter where they are in the world.

Ruins along the way. When I remember the name of this famous town, I'll add it. Sorry!

The next town...More amazing ruins.

A movie was being filmed...

Another town, more ruins. We drove for 7 hours this day.

A town where most of the pottery in Morocco is made.

We spent the night in a town called Zagora, and then the next day it was all sand and all SAHARA!!!
