Trick or Treating. Cason, Ben and his buddy, Dylan, went together this year around the neighborhood. They had fun. It rained for the first half, but near the end, the Sun came out and so did a rainbow. Luckily it was a warm day, so the rain wasn't a big deal.

We went to Sonny Acres Farm on Saturday and I posted some pictures from it, but I just got around to downloading pictures from my Canon, so here are a few more. These kiddos crack me up.

Today was a fun day. We met up with our friends, Emily and Jeremy Hansen & their little Elizabeth and we headed to a pumpkin patch/Fall festival. It was a great time! The kiddos had a blast!

Grampy Fred

The following was written my my mother-in-law, Cathy, today October 25, 2013. 

"My heart is sad, yet rejoices as I say goodbye to my sweet Father, Fred R. Carlin, just one day after his 98th birthday. We celebrated his 98th birthday on Thursday. And then Friday evening, he celebrated with my Mom, and his birthday into heaven again.

The love he showed me and the role he played in my life is immeasurable. He is the best man I have ever known and his legacy of love and selflessness will never be forgotten I will miss him with all my heart - but I'm so grateful he & my mom are reunited . Love you, Dad!!"

It's Josh's Grampy Fred's 98th birthday today! He's a pretty amazing man. He's led a wonderful life, raised 5 kids and is a grandfather and great-grandfather to many. He is loved by all who know him. He is selfless and generous. His dear wife, Colleen, passed 6 years ago and he's been missing her for a long time. They are truly a wonderful example to everyone of a loving and happy eternal marriage. We love you, Grampy Fred!

a month

i doubt anyone even looks at our blog anymore, but i am FINALLY home from all vacations are back into the swing of life and i am back to blogging. having this last month off to just take care of "life" has been a nice break and i'm back to being excited about blogging again. so stay tuned....

Autumn

Fall fun. The top picture is from a Halloween party at the Riggs' house last week. The kiddos made crafts and watched a Halloween movie.  The bottom picture are the pumpkins we grew in our garden. It's weird they never turned from green to orange, but hey, at least we successfully grew something!

10 year High School Reunion

Yep, I'm really that old. 10 year high school reunion tonight. Fun times! It was nice that Josh got to be there too. Wonder where we'll be 10 years from now?!

We got to spend yesterday afternoon with our dear friends, the Wells, at Irvine Regional Park. They have a fun Halloween area complete with a haunted house, pumpkin patch, and train ride. The kiddos had a blast!

Balboa

No trip to California is complete without spending a day at Balboa Island in Newport Beach. So, we joined Aunt Jamie and Grandma Cathy there on Friday.
