What a day...

So the big question today was "How was your day without Josh?"

Well, I fell down the stairs and Benson threw up....

...big day in the McLane household....

Sunday

Well, we made it home safely. There isn't a whole lot to report today because all we did was drive. We're home and we're gearing up for Josh's first day tomorrow. Oh and can anyone tell me why my child likes to "bonk" his head on the back of his high chair? Silly baby.

Saturday is a special day...

Benson went to a NASA museum yesterday. My dad took Ben's picture on his phone. My future astronaut. Too cute :)

Saturday. One more free day and then Josh starts work!!! AH! We're out having fun all day today. Sorry there isn't a lot to report. Have a fun weekend!

Black Friday...

This was 3:30am people. Do I really need to explain?

Embark

I am about to embark on my first "black Friday". Normally I stay away from this sort-of thing, but I can't help myself this year. There are some good deals going on out there. We'll see how lucky I get--I know they run out of the "door busters" really fast. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to any stampedes either, but hopefully we'll be okay :) Wish us luck!

Oh, and I know I'm late to hop on this "train" but Star Trek really is a cool movie. Saw it last night. I enjoyed it a lot! Go see it if you haven't already.

Benson got another tooth. This one is on the bottom. It popped through this last Sunday. That brings his total to three.

We're having a ton of fun in Cleveland. We love Luke & Katie's new home. It's great!

Thanksgiving dinner was AMAZING. My mom is still the BEST COOK EVER! While dinner was getting ready we went to the Cleveland Zoo and of course our camera died. My sister took pictures so hopefully I can steal hers.

Thanksgiving 2009

Things for which I am thankful:

The Gospel--without it I would have nothing and I'm not being dramatic.
The Book of Mormon--it provides me peace in ways that nothing else can.
The Temple--peace. comfort. It helps me know that I have a Savior who loves me.
Josh--I love him so much. I am the luckiest girl alive!
Benson--he's healthy, happy and just about as perfect as can be! I love this boy!
Josh's job--we are so lucky to have a job. I'm grateful for that!
Health--it's easy to take foregranted, but I am always grateful when we're not sick!
My extended family (on both sides)--I have an amazing family. I'm one lucky girl!

Now on to the less important things, but things I still am grateful for:

Our house--it's a material thing, but I am grateful that we have a fun & safe home to live in!
My bed--it's so comfy. I love it.
My closet--it's a girl thing. It's big and I love it.
Fun movies--I like to watch a good movie with my husband.
Good books--nothing's better :)
Hand sanitizer-- I just like to feel clean all of the time.
Food--so yummy.
Potterybarn--favorite store ever.
Gerber Daisies--love those pretty flowers. They make me smile.
Good songs--the ones that make you can listen to a million times. I love those songs.
Cameras--capture all the memories.
Beaches--there's something about them that make me happy.
A good tan--it makes me feel like a whole new person.
Our cars--they work. That's all I care about.
Dana Clark--She has given Benson ALL of his clothes. She's amazing!
Comfy couches--they rock.
Indoor plumbing--no words necessary.
Summer--favorite season.
Treadmills--You can do a major workout in your own home. Awesome!
The Biggest Loser--I'm inspired by this show.
Computers--seriously they make life so much easier.
Internet--this makes life so much easier. Thank you!

Just a few things. I know I'm forgetting the majority of things I'm grateful for, but this is a small list. Happy Thanksgiving!

final vacation

Well, Josh starts work on Monday so we're on our last vacation until D-day. We're in Ohio this week for Thanksgiving and we're having a blast. Benson was PERFECT in the car today!!! He sat quietly in the car for 7 hours (we had to run a bunch of errands before we even left). Can you believe that?!?!?! He didn't cry once! He rocks!!! And aunt Toto rocks because she sat in the back and played with him. Love this boy!!!! Enjoy Thanksgiving everyone~ I'll try to remember to post.

life lessons

My brother forwarded this to me...loved it so I had to share.
"Written by a 90 year old. Take 2 min to read this. This is something we should all read at least once a week. Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio "To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more":
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree..
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it..
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful ..
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger...
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now.. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words. 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere..
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."
